Three people are facing numerous charges after an impaired driving incident that began in the RM of Rosser on Tuesday night.
Stonewall RCMP received a report just before 8 p.m. about a possible impaired driver who had just left the gas bar on Provincial Road 236 and was heading northbound.
Officers determined the vehicle was stolen from Winnipeg and later spotted it westbound on PR 221. A traffic stop was attempted, but the suspects refused to stop. Due to the high volume of other vehicles in the area, RCMP didn’t pursue the stolen vehicle.
A short time later, a report was received regarding suspicious people in the community of Rosser. RCMP found the vehicle had been ditched at a residence and the suspects were now believed to be on foot.
Another report was made stating the suspects were in another vehicle that had been stolen and were heading westbound on PR 221. Police say the second stolen vehicle lost control, drove onto a property and collided with a concrete post.
All three suspects were apprehended by police a short distance away.
A 26-year-old man, 36-year-old woman and 17-year-old girl were arrested and charges are pending. They remain in custody.
Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.
