A 27-year-old Winnipeg man remains in police custody following a home invasion in the RM of Springfield on Thursday.
Oakbank RCMP responded to a home on Oakwood Road just before 6 a.m., where a man known to the homeowners broke in with a knife. A 66-year-old man was injured during a struggle with the suspect, while a 58-year-old woman was able to disarm him.
The residents fled the home and called police before the suspect barricaded himself inside. Officers made contact with the suspect and talked him out of the house, where he was arrested without incident.
Both residents, along with a 24-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Criminal charges are pending and RCMP continue to investigate.
