Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a suspect after a man was struck by a vehicle and critically injured on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the 500 block of Stella Avenue just before 5 p.m. where a man in his 30s had been hit by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene and the victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later upgraded to stable.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in the Dufferin area.
At around 10:30 p.m., officers arrested a 26-year-old man at a home in the Inkster-Faraday neighbourhood. He has been charged with aggravated assault and remains in custody.
