Winnipeg police have charged a woman after she climbed an estimated 100 feet up a crane on Thursday night.
Police and emergency personnel responded to a construction site in the area of Sherbrook Street and Wolseley Avenue at around 7:40 p.m.
Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service technical rescue task force climbed up the crane in an attempt to rescue the woman, who was unwilling to be lowered down by safety ropes. Firefighters then helped the woman climb back down using ladders, where paramedics assessed her.
Mckayla Treasure Anita McKay, 21 of Winnipeg, has been charged with mischief over $5,000.
She remains in custody.
