WINNIPEG — Sun-seekers will have a new balmy destination to fly to this winter from Winnipeg.

Swoop, the ultra-low-cost subsidiary of WestJet, has added Orlando, Florida to its winter schedule with direct flights from Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport.

“We are thrilled to be bringing more ultra-low fares and connectivity to Winnipeg through the addition of non-stop service to Orlando Sanford just in time for the winter season,” said Bert van der Stege, head of commercial and finance at Swoop.

“Winnipeg is an important part of our network and as we continue to recover our operations, we remain committed to supporting the recovery of inbound and outbound air travel to the region.”

The non-stop service between Winnipeg and Orlando Sanford International Airport is set to begin in December and run twice weekly for $139 (taxes and fees included), with return flights costing the same. Blackout dates for introductory pricing (book by September 22 at 11:59 p.m. ET) are between December 16, 2021 to January 6, 2022 and March 11, 2022 to April 4, 2022.
