Manitoba RCMP are investigating a fatal house fire on Viking Bay in the RM of Gimli.

Emergency crews were called to the home on Saturday afternoon, where they discovered remains in the house.

RCMP say the flames quickly spread to the main part of the structure.

The identity of the remains is unconfirmed and an autopsy is taking place.

RCMP and the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
