A 52-year-old woman was seriously injured on Sunday after being attacked by several dogs in Peguis First Nation.

The attack happened just before 12:30 a.m. as the woman was walking in the community. She was able to get help at a nearby residence before being airlifted to hospital.

RCMP say community officials informed them the dogs involved had been destroyed.

Fisher Branch RCMP continue to investigate.
