WINNIPEG — The Manitoba government has opened mail pickup and drop-off locations across the province, effective immediately, to ensure families and businesses can access cheques and other essential items during the ongoing postal disruption.
The service is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes critical items such as court orders, educational materials, medical supplies, and health-care resources. Provincial departments have redirected essential mail to these locations in anticipation of the disruption.
Manitobans must present valid identification to collect their mail and can drop off government correspondence at any location. Further details, including location lists and mail guidelines, are available at manitoba.ca/postaldisruption.
About 55,000 Canada Post employees represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have been on strike since last Friday, shutting down operations and halting deliveries. The federal government has appointed its top mediator to help reach a new agreement.
