WINNIPEG — A vacant two-storey home in the 600 block of Flora Avenue was heavily damaged by fire late Tuesday, marking the second blaze at the site this month.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the scene at 10:52 p.m. and found the structure engulfed in smoke and flames. Firefighters initially tackled the fire defensively from the outside before transitioning to an interior attack once conditions allowed. The fire was brought under control by 11:49 p.m.
No people were found inside, and no injuries were reported. However, a cat was discovered deceased within the building.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and damage estimates are not yet available.
