A 16-year-old girl was attacked in the parking lot of a retailer on Saturday afternoon, rendering her unconscious on the ground.

Police responded to the 2300 block of McPhillips Street at around 4:30 p.m., where officers met with the victim and a witness.

Police say the victim was walking in the parking lot when she was suddenly confronted by a suspect. She was assaulted by being kicked and punched and knocked unconscious. She was transported to hospital in stable condition and treated for her injuries. The accused fled the scene before police arrived.
