WINNIPEG — A fire Wednesday night destroyed a vacant and boarded house in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue.
Winnipeg firefighters were called to the scene just after 6 p.m. to find heavy flames and smoke coming from the structure. Crews were unable to enter the property due to the severity of conditions and worked to extinguish the fire overnight.
The house’s structural integrity was compromised, and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is planning an emergency demolition today.
No injuries were reported. One neighbouring house was temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
WFPS crews responded to a fire at this same location in June 2024.
The fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
