Winnipeg police have arrested two men following the recovery of a stolen vehicle equipped with GPS tracking.
On Friday night, Winnipeg police were alerted by the Camrose Police Service about a stolen 2025 Ram 1500 pickup truck with Alberta licence plates. The truck’s GPS system pinpointed its location in the 1300 block of Pembina Highway.
The next day, at approximately 12:19 p.m., officers found the vehicle parked at the identified location. After observing the truck being started remotely, officers waited as two suspects approached and attempted to enter the vehicle. Both were arrested without incident.
Police discovered one suspect was carrying a stolen credit card, while the other had multiple outstanding warrants related to fraud and identity theft dating back to 2020 and 2021.
James Yeboah, 25, of Calgary, is charged with possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000 and under $5,000.
Jeffery Ofori, 30, of Winnipeg, faces charges for possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000, as well as several warrants for identity fraud, using forged documents, and fraud over $5,000.
Both men remain in custody.
