Bus service is expanding in northern Manitoba to connect more of the province’s most remote regions.
NCN Thompson Bus Lines is expanding its services to better connect northern Manitoba communities, adding a new weekday daytime route beginning April 1.
The expanded service will link Flin Flon, The Pas, Swan River, Dauphin, Portage la Prairie, and Winnipeg, providing both passenger and freight transportation.
As part of the expansion, the company has invested in The Pas, purchasing and redeveloping a bus terminal — its third facility in the province alongside Thompson and Winnipeg. The move has already created seven new jobs in The Pas, all filled by Indigenous employees.
“Our expanded services will support community members, individuals traveling for medical purposes, local organizations, schools, sports teams, and more,” said NCN Thompson Bus Ltd. co-founder James Pelk.
“This investment underscores our company’s dedication to providing northern Manitoba with safe, dependable, and accessible transportation solutions. Supporting northern Manitoba was our vision from the start, and it will continue to be our vision.”
The company, which has served northern Manitoba since 2018, will share more details about the new routes on its website in the coming weeks.
