The Winnipeg Folk Festival has pulled back the curtain on its 50th anniversary lineup of artists.
During an early morning release on Friday, organizers announced the headliners who will take the stage from July 10-13, 2025 at Birds Hill Provincial Park.
“Our 50th celebration is all about honouring the artists who have shaped the festival while embracing those redefining music today,” said Chris Frayer, artistic director.
“From British Columbia to Newfoundland and Labrador, from Australia to Ireland, and to our American neighbours to the south, this lineup showcases the power of music to unite, inspire, and foster a sense of discovery that festivalgoers look forward to each year.”
Among the artist highlights are The Cat Empire, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Allison Russell, Mavis Staples, Ani Difranco, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Begonia, Romi Mayes, and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, among others.
