Winnipeg police arrested four teenage boys after a stolen car was driven erratically and crashed into a pole in a parking lot on Kimberley Avenue on Monday.
Officers responded around 6:45 p.m. to reports of reckless driving and discovered a heavily damaged 2021 Kia Forte, later confirmed stolen from a Whitley Drive residence on March 18. Witnesses reported the vehicle doing donuts and screeching tires before losing control and hitting a pole.
The four teens fled but were tracked down by police found hiding behind a residence on Green Valley Bay, while the fourth was arrested nearby.
A 15-year-old boy is charged with mischief over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He was released on an undertaking, while three other teens — two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old — were released without charges.
No injuries were reported, and police continue to investigate.
