A 28-year-old man from Cypress River has died following a single-vehicle crash in Glenboro, Manitoba early Thursday morning.

Blue Hills RCMP responded to the scene on Railway Avenue around 5:15 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had struck a tree. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was the lone occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Police say the vehicle first collided with a hydro pole before coming to a stop against the tree. The impact caused a temporary power outage in parts of the town.

Manitoba RCMP continue to investigate.
