Two Winnipeg men are in custody following a violent robbery at a grocery store on Abinojii Mikanah Boulevard Saturday evening.
Police say around 7:55 p.m. on May 10, two male suspects stole merchandise and bear-sprayed a security guard at Sobeys before stealing the guard’s cellphone and fleeing on foot. The victim was treated on scene.
A short time later, officers arrested the suspects on Marlene Street and recovered a can of bear spray. Further investigation linked the pair to a previous bear spray assault on April 27 in a parking lot on Beliveau Road.
Noah Henry Bercier, 24, and David Clifford Bercier, 18, face multiple charges including robbery, assault with a weapon, and weapons possession. Both remain in custody.
