WINNIPEG — Five adults were taken to hospital after a violent altercation in the North End early Monday morning.
Winnipeg police responded to the 500 block of Mountain Avenue around 4 a.m. following reports of multiple stabbings. Officers arrived to find several people injured. Three victims were initially listed in critical condition, while two others were in stable condition. All have since been upgraded to stable.
Police are investigating the incident, and say it appears to be an isolated fight among a group of individuals. The area was temporarily closed off but has since reopened. Authorities say there is no threat to public safety.
