WINNIPEG — The Manitoba government will spend over $1 million to improve accessibility at 1010 Sinclair Street, a supportive housing complex for people with physical disabilities.
Twelve units received upgrades, including wider doorways, automatic door openers, and new flooring. Common areas on the main floor were also renovated to enhance mobility and comfort for all residents.
“Safe, accessible housing is foundational to dignity, independence and inclusion for people living with physical disabilities,” said Housing, Addictions and Homelessness Minister Bernadette Smith.
“This investment will ensure residents at 1010 Sinclair benefit from safe, comfortable housing that suits their individual needs and supports their independence for years to come.”
The building, operated by Ten Ten Sinclair Housing Inc., has provided inclusive, affordable housing since 1975. The upgrades come as the non-profit marks its 50th anniversary.
