WINNIPEG — The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada has appointed Peter George as its new president and CEO.

George, a veteran of the branding and communications industry, succeeds Terry Slobodian, who is retiring after six years that included overseeing the museum’s $48-million relocation and expansion next to Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

George previously led McKim Communications Group and helped develop major campaigns for clients like Travel Manitoba and the University of Manitoba.

Board chair Barry Bembridge said George’s background in strategic communications and community engagement will help the museum build on recent momentum. George called the museum a “Canadian institution” and said he looks forward to helping it reach new heights.

George will begin in his new role with the RAMWC on July 14.
