A float plane flipped over on the Winnipeg River on Monday afternoon after a routine landing went awry.
Manitoba RCMP say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m., when the 27-year-old pilot from Snow Lake had landed the aircraft and was taxiing to shore. The plane’s right float submerged, causing it to tip upside down.
The pilot, who was alone in the plane, escaped without injury.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and Lac Du Bonnet RCMP are assisting in the investigation.
