The City of Winnipeg is warning residents about text messages impersonating the Winnipeg Parking Authority.

While the authority itself does not send texts, its collections agency — CBV Collection Services Ltd. — may send reminders to people with outstanding fines. These legitimate messages can include payment links and direct recipients to “call Wpg311 to validate.”

Anyone unsure about the authenticity of a text should contact 311. Suspected fraud or scams should be reported to authorities.
