A Sunday evening house fire in south St. Vital has left one Winnipeg home a total loss and damaged another.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the scene on Southwalk Bay at 7:39 p.m. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames and worked to protect nearby properties. The fire was brought under control by 9:25 p.m.
One firefighter was injured during the response but did not require hospital treatment. A neighbouring home was temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
