A 25-year-old man from Stony Mountain has been arrested in Winnipeg after RCMP tracked a stolen vehicle from the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

At around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Whitemouth RCMP spotted the vehicle on Highway 11 after it was stolen from a business on Prairie Road. The driver refused to stop, and officers didn’t pursue the vehicle. Investigators later determined the driver had travelled to Winnipeg.

By 4 p.m., RCMP and Winnipeg police located the vehicle at a business on Marion Street. Officers arrested the driver, Riley Caie, on Lagimodiere Boulevard. A 19-year-old woman from the RM of Rockwood was detained but later released without charge.

Caie faces multiple charges from incidents between July 22 and August 12, including possession of stolen property, theft, assault, weapons offences, and failing to comply with court orders. He remains in custody.

RCMP continue to investigate.
