A 77-year-old Winnipeg man has died following a boating incident on Lake Winnipeg near Balsam Harbour Marina.
Selkirk RCMP say they were called around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday after a capsized boat was found about two kilometres northwest of the marina. The East Beaches Fire Department launched a search, with additional support from the Canadian Coast Guard, and Manitoba RCMP.
At 5:45 p.m., firefighters located the man’s body near the overturned vessel. He had been wearing a life jacket.
Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
