A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Dauphin on Saturday night.

Manitoba CMP say the collision happened around 9 p.m. on Buchanan Avenue. The victim was first taken to Dauphin hospital before being airlifted to Winnipeg by STARS with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after, officers arrested a 20-year-old woman from the RM of Gilbert Plains, who allegedly provided a breath sample nearly three times the legal limit. She was released from custody with charges pending.

Police seized the vehicle involved, and a forensic collision reconstructionist examined the scene.

Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
