Technical and clerical workers at Manitoba Hydro, represented by CUPE 998, have ratified a new three-year collective agreement that delivers wage increases totalling 12 percent.

The deal includes a 9.5 percent general increase, with additional boosts for the lowest-paid and long-service employees. Members voted 82 percent in favour, with an 80 percent turnout.

“I am happy to have a new collective agreement that our membership voted in favour of,” said Michelle Bergen, president of CUPE 998. “It was really important to us that members be treated equally and not divided.”

The agreement runs until December 31, 2027.
