Winnipeg police have arrested a 19-year-old man after two frightening incidents in Elmwood on Wednesday.

At around 3:30 p.m., a woman picking up her children on Brazier Street reported that a man approached her vehicle and drew what appeared to be a handgun. A short time later, police say the same man pointed the weapon at a group of youth near Brazier Street and Maxwell Place, causing them to flee.

Officers later arrested the suspect behind an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Brazier Street and seized two air pistols. No one was injured.

The man is charged with pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon. He was released on an undertaking.
