Manitoba RCMP made two arrests in separate incidents this week after suspects with outstanding warrants barricaded themselves inside their homes.
On Wednesday evening, Portage la Prairie RCMP executed an entry warrant at a residence to arrest a man believed to be armed. Officers deployed tear gas before entering and using a Taser to arrest the suspect.
Aaron Penman, 47, remains in custody on two arrest warrants and new charges of resisting arrest and disobeying court orders.
Later that night at around 10 p.m., Fisher Branch RCMP attempted to arrest a 31-year-old man in Fisher River on several outstanding warrants. The suspect, believed to have a firearm, barricaded himself inside his home. Officers entered the property early the next morning and arrested Tyson Amos without incident.
Amos has been charged with uttering threats, resisting arrest, and remains in custody on three outstanding warrants. Both investigations are ongoing.
