Winnipeg police have arrested a man allegedly linked to multiple property crimes after using fingerprints to identify the suspect.
Richard Scott Rayland, 31, was identified as a suspect in the theft of a 2014 Honda Accord taken from a home on Hull Avenue in early April. The car was later found abandoned on Kingfisher Crescent, and fingerprints recovered from the vehicle linked him to the crime.
Police say Rayland had 10 outstanding warrants from the Winnipeg Police Service and RCMP for a series of property-related offences, including possession of stolen property, break and enter, theft, and multiple breaches of court orders.
Winnipeg police arrested Rayland on Wednesday at a residence in the 100 block of Garry Street.
He has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and remains in custody.
