Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg will hold a large-scale emergency exercise on Thursday, simulating a response to a natural disaster.

Residents near the base may see increased activity, including emergency vehicles using the Wihuri Road gate and personnel with simulated injuries.

The drill will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Officials say the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination between base staff and local emergency responders, and note there is no cause for concern.
