Winnipeg travellers will be able to jet directly to Iceland next summer through a new route offered by WestJet.
The airline announced the addition of Reykjavik (Keflavík) direct from Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport as part of its summer schedule on Tuesday.
The new route will operate once weekly beginning June 27, 2026.
“We’re excited to continue working with WestJet to connect our community with the places that matter most,” said Nick Hays, president and CEO, Winnipeg Airports Authority.
“Manitoba is home to the largest Icelandic population outside of Iceland and this route will strengthen the deep ties between our regions.”
WestJet also announced three weekly flights between Winnipeg and London, Ontario, beginning May 17, 2026, as well as year-round direct service between Winnipeg and Cancun, Mexico.
