Winnipeg Crime Stoppers has launched a new public awareness campaign urging residents to help curb a growing number of suspicious fires across the city.
Branded with the message “Let’s Ignite the Fight Against Arson,” the initiative also extends enhanced cash rewards for arson-related tips until December 31, 2025.
The organization says arson poses escalating risks to first responders, homeowners, and entire neighbourhoods — causing displacement, endangering lives, and putting added strain on emergency crews.
“Arson tears at the fabric of our community,” said Rob MacKenzie, chair of Winnipeg Crime Stoppers. “It’s not just about damaged buildings, it’s about lost safety, lost stability, and lives put at risk. Even the smallest anonymous tip can prevent the next tragedy. If you know something, say something. Your identity is always protected, and your courage can save lives.”
The campaign will appear across digital platforms and encourages residents to report suspicious activity anonymously. Crime Stoppers does not record calls, collect names, or require tipsters to testify.
