A 35-year-old woman from Ochre River is facing multiple charges after an impaired driving spree in the city damaged property and caused a temporary internet outage.
RCMP say the woman was seen leaving a liquor vendor after being denied service just after 8:30 p.m. and began driving erratically, hitting two parked vehicles, running over a stop sign, and then plowing over a Westman Communications utility box. The impact knocked out internet service in the city.
The driver continued through another business lot, narrowly missing a telephone pole before her vehicle became stuck near Jackson Street and 1st Street Southwest. She was arrested at the scene and later provided breath samples over the legal limit.
While in custody, police say she resisted officers, issued threats, and pulled a fire alarm.
Candace Burla is charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation, mischief, uttering threats, and several related offences. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
