Winnipeg crews began plowing all major streets on Wednesday morning as part of ongoing snow-clearing operations.
Sidewalk and pathway clearing will also continue throughout the day, with work scheduled according to the city’s street-priority system.
About 8 centimetres of snow fell in the city on Tuesday, with a few additional centimetres piling up overnight.
Residents are urged to drive to winter conditions and use extreme caution near snow-clearing equipment.
The city is also reminding motorists that the annual winter route parking ban is in effect. Parking is prohibited on designated winter routes between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., and vehicles parked in violation may be ticketed and towed.
