A 31-year-old man is facing charges following a machete assault in Little Grand Rapids early Thursday morning.

Manitoba RCMP say officers were called to the local nursing station at about 5:05 a.m., after a man arrived with a serious arm injury caused by a stabbing. Investigators determined the victim had been involved in a fight with another man, during which his arm was cut with a machete.

Police located and arrested the suspect, a 31-year-old man from the community, at his residence at about 6:10 a.m. without incident.

Little Grand Rapids RCMP continue to investigate.
