The Manitoba government is moving ahead to build a new interchange at the intersection of the Perimeter Highway and McGillivray Boulevard.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor says the project is aimed at improving safety, easing congestion and supporting long-term growth around Winnipeg.
The province says the McGillivray project is identified as an interim phase in the South Perimeter Highway design study to address current traffic volumes, safety concerns and future growth.
Plans include a four-lane divided highway and a two-lane undivided overpass.
The total project cost is estimated at $235 million, covering design, engineering, land acquisition, utility relocations and construction. Work is expected to begin in early spring, with completion targeted for 2030.
McGillivray Boulevard is a key commuter and commercial route serving communities including Oak Bluff, Sanford, Brunkild and Sperling.
