Winnipeg firefighters battled a blaze in the city’s North End Saturday morning, when they were called to a vacant house in the 400 block of Flora Avenue.

A Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service unit was driving by the scene just after 5 a.m. when they noticed the fire and called the 911 communications centre.

Crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the structure and had the fire under control by around 5:41 a.m.
