The Winnipeg Goldeyes are hosting a retro concert night at Blue Cross Park this summer, featuring tribute acts dedicated to ABBA, the Bee Gees, and the music of Billy Joel.
Retro Revival at the Ballpark will take place Friday, July 17 (7 p.m.), featuring three acts: Arrival from Sweden: The Music of ABBA, The Australian Bee Gees, and Kyle Martin’s Piano Man.
Arrival from Sweden is widely considered one of the world’s top ABBA tribute productions, founded in Gothenburg in 1995 with ties to ABBA’s original musical legacy. The Australian Bee Gees have been performing continuously since 1996, logging more than 6,500 shows across 55 countries. Kyle Martin was hand-picked by Billy Joel for the touring production of Movin’ Out and now headlines his own Las Vegas show built around the music of Joel and Elton John.
“Blue Cross Park has become much more than a ballpark —–it is a gathering place for memorable summer experiences in the heart of downtown Winnipeg,” said Regan Katz, Goldeyes’ vice-president and chief operating officer.
“We are committed to bringing exciting events to Blue Cross Park each summer and giving people even more reasons to come downtown, support local business, and make lasting memories with family and friends.”
Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. at Goldeyes.com. On-field seating is $85 plus taxes and fees; in-stand seats are $70 plus taxes and fees.
The show is one of three concerts planned at the ballpark this summer, alongside Country Rising Festival on August 21 and the Tacos & Tequila Festival on August 22.
