A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after two people were shot while riding an TV in the northern Manitoba community of Pukatawagan early Tuesday morning.
Manitoba RCMP received a report at 12:10 a.m. that a 21-year-old and a 17-year-old boy had been shot by an unknown person while travelling on an off-road vehicle. Both sustained gunshot wounds and were later airlifted to Winnipeg for further treatment.
At 1:45 a.m., RCMP issued an emergency alert asking residents to stay indoors and report any suspicious activity to police.
Mounties identified a suspect in the shooting and made an arrest Tuesday evening at a home in the community. The teen was taken into custody without incident.
He faces charges of aggravated assault, discharge firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of a controlled substance and other firearm-related offences.
RCMP continue to investigate.
