WestJet is adding two new direct routes from Winnipeg to sunny destinations as part of the airline’s upcoming winter schedule.
Travellers will be able to depart from Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport and travel directly to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Belize City, Belize.
“Winnipeg Airports Authority is excited to see WestJet add even more opportunities for travellers to head somewhere warm this winter,” said Nick Hays, president and CEO of WAA, in a release.
“We are dedicated to offering more flights to places that matter to Manitobans, and we value WestJet’s partnership in bringing more connectivity to YWG.”
The direct YWG to Punta Cana route will fly once weekly beginning November 28, 2026, while the Belize City route will depart once weekly beginning December 14, 2026.
Sunwing Vacations, WestJet’s leisure and vacation division, will also operate a separate Punta Cana to Winnipeg route beginning November 4, 2026.
