Manitoba RCMP are investigating after thousands of dollars’ worth of electrical cable was stolen from a business in Grunthal.

Police were notified on July 28 at approximately 11 a.m. of a theft at a business on Holme Road in Grunthal. Officers attended the scene and spoke with an employee, who told them the theft actually occurred on July 25 at around 2 p.m.

Two male suspects, one wearing an orange safety vest and the other wearing a blue safety vest, made off with electrical cable worth an estimated $40,000 to $50,000, RCMP say. They fled the scene in a red truck.

Police believe the same two suspects were involved in an attempted theft later that day, when they breached a lock at a cellphone tower near Highway 216 and Highway 59. An employee was on site at the time, and the suspects fled.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about these incidents, or the identity of the owner of the red truck, to come forward.
