Manitoba Hydro has announced that Allan Danroth has left the Crown corporation for “personal reasons” after two years as president and CEO.
The public utility says Hal Turner, Hydro’s current chief operating officer, will act as interim president and CEO effective immediately.
“Allan led us through some important changes to our operations, including major improvements to our safety culture and work to replace our aging SAP software, among other initiatives,” said Manitoba Hydro-Electric board chair Jamie Wilson on Friday.
“We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Turner, who joined Manitoba Hydro in 1995, previously served as interim CEO between the departure of Jay Grewal and the hiring of Danroth in 2024.
Wilson said the search for a new CEO will reflect current board and provincial priorities, including Hydro’s current 10-year integrated resource plan (IRP).
“We believe that the path Manitoba Hydro is on, as outlined in the IRP, is the right path forward,” Wilson added. “It is the best way to meet Manitoba’s energy needs going forward.”
