Manitoba is offering free entry to all provincial parks for Labour Day weekend, the province has announced.

Provincial park vehicle permits won’t be required from September 4 to 7, though nightly camping fees still apply. Entrance fees to national parks remain in effect.

“Whether you’re camping, hiking, paddling, spending time at the beach or attending an interpretive program, we welcome everyone to make the most of the long weekend in Manitoba’s provincial parks,” said Environment and Climate Change Minister Mike Moyes in a statement.

Park interpreters will be offering free guided hikes, campfire talks and other family-friendly programs this weekend and through the fall season.

Camping reservations can be made online at manitobaparks.com or by calling 1-888-482-2267. Select campgrounds remain open until Thanksgiving weekend.
