A 24-year-old man is facing drug, counterfeit and dangerous driving charges after a Winnipeg police investigation into cocaine trafficking.
Police began investigating a man and a residence in the 300 block of Stradbrook Avenue earlier this month. On September 22, officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and collided with another vehicle. The suspect was arrested after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported.
Search warrants on the vehicle and residence turned up three ounces of cocaine, worth an estimated $6,000, about $30,000 in cash, about $13,000 in counterfeit currency, a fraudulent photo ID, drug packaging, a scale, a vacuum sealer and three cellphones.
The suspect was released without charges pending further investigation, then arrested again on September 25 in the 1100 block of Main Street. Police seized another $3,900 in cash and a cellphone.
The man, whose name wasn’t released as charges haven’t been formally laid, faces multiple offences. He was released on an undertaking.
