WAG Receives $1M Donation, Will Establish Leatherdale Gallery in Inuit Art Centre

WINNIPEG — A $1 million donation to the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s future Inuit Art Centre will establish a namesake gallery once complete.

The Doug and Louise Leatherdale Gallery will be an intimate space complementing exhibitions by exploring themes in more depth and by offering alternative perspectives. The gallery will connect to the WAG at all levels.

Manitoba Museum Receives $1M Grant for Gallery Renewals

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Museum will be able to renew nearly half of its galleries with a $1 million grant from the Winnipeg Foundation.

The grant will support the Bringing Our Stories Forward Capital Renewal Project, supporting a refresh to 42 percent of the museum’s galleries, including a new Winnipeg Gallery, along with the Grasslands, Orientation, and Urban Galleries.

WINNIPEG — It’s not every day you see an international rock ‘n’ roll legend cruising around Winnipeg on a bike. But for one lucky couple, running into Paul McCartney was all about being in the right place at the right time.

The former Beatle was cycling along the bike path on Waterfront Drive Saturday afternoon when he came across a couple snapping their wedding photos.
