Inuit Women to Curate Upcoming WAG Exhibit

An all-female, all-Inuit team has been assembled to curate the exhibits in the future Inuit Art Centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Opening in 2020, the team will be led by curator and academic Dr. Heather Igloliorte with emerging curators/artists Asinnajaq, Jade Nasogaluak Carpenter, and Krista Ulujuk Zawadski.

A new exhibit opened Wednesday at the Manitoba Museum, taking visitors on a tour of Canada’s triumphs, failures, and sacrifices.

Snapshots of Canada is an exhibition from the Canadian Museum of History and Canada’s History Society, highlight some of the country’s cornerstones of history, including the trial of Métis leader Louis Riel.

Winnipeg’s top restaurants are curating their best dishes this month for Ciao! magazine’s 11-day dining extravaganza, Dine About Winnipeg.

From February 1-11, more than 10,000 diners are expected to flock to 30 restaurants to taste prix fixe menus at three separate price points — $18, $28 and $38.

WINNIPEG — A scale model of the Franklin Expedition’s HMS Erebus will soon be on display at the Manitoba Museum.

The 1:40 scale model tells the story of Sir John Franklin‘s journey once he set sail from England in 1845 with two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, in search of a Northwest Passage across what is now Canada’s Arctic.
