The Fish on Monday signed veteran right-handed pitcher Juan Carlos (JC) Sulbaran, veteran infielder Tommy Mendonca, and catcher Tyler Baker. The Goldeyes also activated left-handed pitcher Shane Dawson from the inactive list.

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed defenceman Joe Morrow on a one-year contract worth $1 million annually.

Morrow, 25, played 18 games for the Jets and 38 games for the Canadiens in 2017-18 and had 16 points (6G, 10A) and 26 penalty minutes.

The Jets will start their next season on the road.

The Jets’ opening game will start on October 4 against the St. Louis Blues, followed by another game away against the Dallas Stars on October 6.

$20M Private Hockey Training Facility to Open in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG — A new private hockey training facility in the city will be home to future professional athletes to help them develop their on-ice careers.

The Rink, which began training hockey players in 2009, is expanding to construct a $20 million facility, complete with a 95,000-square-foot complex with an NHL sized rink.

Blue Bombers Add Quarterback Mitchell Gale to Practice Roster

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed international quarterback Mitchell Gale to the team’s practice roster.

The Oklahoma native played five seasons in the CFL, throwing for 1,050 yards and four touchdowns on 158 passing attempts. Gale spent his four-year college career with the Abilene Christian Wildcats, throwing for 97 touchdowns and over 12,000 passing yards. Gale has spent time with the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions.
