The music wasn’t the only thing sizzling at this year’s Winnipeg Folk Festival as revellers basked in sunshine and balmy temperatures all weekend long.

The 45th annual festival wrapped up Sunday with headliner Sheryl Crow taking to the stage in Birds Hill Provincial Park.

Winnipeg Folk Festival lovers can get a taste of the music they’ll hear at the annual festival through the second edition of Folk Fest at 510.

The Folk Festival and the City of Winnipeg have teamed up for another year to bring artists to the City Hall courtyard at 510 Main Street on Wednesdays throughout the summer.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival says attendance numbers for the 2017 festival exceeded their expectations.

While the festival says it’s still in the process of tallying the final attendance numbers, organizers say they can confirm more people than they’d expected came to the four-day music festival this year.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival is stocking naloxone kits for the first time this year to respond to any opioid overdoses.

Festival medical staff were trained by a pharmacist on how to administer naloxone, which can be given in the form of a nasal spray or injection.
