Winnipeg police say there weren’t any major incidents to report Friday night with about 36,000 fans flocking to downtown for the Jets game.

The Jets clinched the first round playoff series with a 5-0 win over the Minnesota Wild.

WINNIPEG – Bryan Little’s teammates were happy they could deliver something special to the veteran Winnipeg forward.

Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves and the Jets scored four goals in the first period to eliminate the Minnesota Wild with a 5-0 victory in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series Friday.

When the Winnipeg Jets play in Game 5 of the NHL playoffs on Friday, the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party outside Bell MTS Place will be even bigger than before.

Economic Development Winnipeg says the party will now include Graham Avenue, as opposed to only Donald Street.

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets got a boost from their frenzied fans over their two victories at home over Minnesota. Jets forward Paul Stastny is expecting another raucous crowd now that the series is moving south of the border.

Winnipeg opened the best-of-seven first-round series with a 3-2 win Wednesday night and followed that with a 4-1 victory on Friday. Game 3 is set for Sunday at Xcel Energy Center.

About 9,000 fans lined Donald Street on Friday night for the second Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party.

As the Jets rolled over the Minnesota Wild inside Bell MTS Place, a sea of white was filling Donald Street from Portage Avenue to St. Mary Avenue. Economic Development Winnipeg says hundreds of young fans also enjoyed the festivities at the alcohol-free zone at Millennium Library Park.

WINNIPEG – Connor Hellebuyck wasn’t laying any blame for missing out on a shutout in his first NHL playoffs by 45 seconds.

The Winnipeg Jets goaltender was just glad Paul Stastny, Andrew Copp and Patrik Laine scored in the third period to propel the team to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Friday.

The Jets defenceman scored at 12:47 of the third period to lift the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of their first-round NHL Western Conference playoff series.

The Winnipeg Jets will open the post-season on Wednesday, April 11 when they welcome the Minnesota Wild to Bell MTS Place.

Winnipeg plays a second home contest against the Wild on Friday, April 13. The two clubs then travel to St. Paul for game three and four on Sunday, April 15 and Tuesday, April 17.
