WINNIPEG — Adam Werner says he had no time to really think about his hockey dream coming true.

The Colorado goalie unexpectedly made his NHL debut Tuesday and stopped all 40 shots he faced as the Avalanche shut out the Winnipeg Jets 4-0.

WINNIPEG — Todd McLellan tipped his hat to one of his penalty killers Tuesday, but it wasn’t a Los Angeles Kings skater.

The head coach praised veteran goaltender Jonathan Quick, who foiled five Winnipeg Jets’ power plays in a 3-2 victory for the visitors at Bell MTS Place.

WINNIPEG — Connor Hellebuyck’s first shutout of the season couldn’t have come at a better time for the Winnipeg Jets.

Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine scored in the shootout as the Jets ended a three-game losing skid with a 1-0 victory over the red-hot Edmonton Oilers Sunday.

WINNIPEG — Nick Schmaltz knew the Arizona Coyotes’ power play was going to finally click. It did in a big way Tuesday.

Schmaltz and linemate Christian Dvorak each scored with the man advantage just over two minutes apart to help lift the Coyotes over the Jets 4-2 for a rare victory in Winnipeg. Dvorak also scored at even strength.

WINNIPEG — Injuries may have led to a simpler game for the Pittsburgh Penguins but it worked on Sunday night, as they powered past the Winnipeg Jets 7-2.

“It’s pretty sound evidence that it’s an effective way to win in this league regardless of who’s in your lineup,” said coach Mike Sullivan.
