The best and brightest musical talent was honoured Friday at the Indigenous Music Awards.

Attendees packed the Club Regent Event Centre for the awards show, which honoured 20 musicians and bands.

TORONTO – Organizers behind the Humboldt Broncos tribute concert say they’ve raised nearly half a million dollars for families affected by the tragic bus crash.

The Country Thunder Music Festival says the event in Saskatoon brought in about $588,100 from tickets, raffles and other fundraising efforts.

Manitoba artists won two Juno Awards Saturday night during a gala event in Vancouver.

Children’s entertainer Fred Penner took home the award for children’s album of the year for his latest recording, Hear the Music. The award is Penner’s fourth Juno, including a win for his last release in 2015.
